I almost never write reviews, but I think this instance is worth sharing with prospective customers. I bought two pairs of these Lightorama shoes for my two sons. They were ecstatic because they love anything that lights up (as kids do), and I liked that these can be turned on or off to conserve the battery. Plus, since Adidas normally has solid quality products, I thought they would have a longer lifespan than the unbranded ones you can find elsewhere. However, in each pair, one of the shoes had a light failure within 48 hours after mild use (indoors only, during a school day). Even cheap light up shoes from big box discount stores (you know the ones) last longer after much heavier use. However, turns out that Adidas only allows only ONE warranty return per YEAR. Despite me sending a video showing the defective light for EACH pair and the company acknowledging that BOTH pairs are indeed defective, customer service would still only allow a refund for one of the two pairs due to this warranty policy. So now I have a pair of light up shoes that I spent like 40 bucks on that has only one shoe that functions. I had to tell my kindergartner they wouldn’t replace his busted pair of light up Adidas (“But it wasn’t my fault dad — I was really careful!”)
Disappointing customer service from Adidas, especially considering the amount of money I spend with the company annually. We are a loyal Adidas household and rarely buy other brands of sneakers. I typically purchase 4-6 pairs of sneakers / athletic shoes per year for my growing kids plus a pair or two for myself and my wife. I’ll need to find a new brand from here on out, which is unfortunate, because my kids are in grade school, so LOTS of shoes left to buy. I simply wanted a refund for a defective product that failed within two days of use — customer service 101.
AVOID THIS PRODUCT and save yourself the headache.
